In Division III girls’ soccer:
Rowland Heights Rowland 1, Brea Olinda 0--Katy Tarango scored with 10 minutes remaining, on Rowland’s only good scoring chance of the game.
Brea Olinda (19-3-5) controlled play in the first half and dominated the second, but was repeatedly unable to connect on passes deep in Rowland territory.
“We were just missing today,” Brea Coach Mike Knaus said. “We didn’t execute at all. Because we had no touch, we had to try and adjust.”
Late in the second half, Rowland (18-7-2) started a run along the left sideline. Janice Callado made a crossing pass and Tarango sent her shot into the top right-hand corner.
