PREP BASEBALL ‘95: PREVIEW : Pacific Coast League

Share

Coaches: Mike Chapman, Aliso Niguel; Doug Deats, Costa Mesa; Paul Troxel, Estancia; Greg Marshall, Laguna Beach; Pete Tereschuk, Laguna Hills; Chris Conlin, University.

Facts and Figures: Despite only five seniors--and only one who has played much at the varsity level--on its roster, Laguna Hills is favored to replace departed Trabuco Hills as champion even though Tereschuk, now in his sixth season, contends “the league is more balanced this year than any year since I’ve been here.” Laguna Hills is the only team with a ninth-grader--infielder Cesar Reyes--on its roster. “The last one we played was Brett Nista,” Tereschuk said. “There aren’t many of those around, but I think this kid’s pretty good.” . . . Aliso Niguel, in its varsity season, has four switch-hitters on its roster.
