Susan Lucci, CBS Collect Top Daytime Emmy Nominations : Awards: After last year’s snub, the actress who plays Erica Kane on ABC’s ‘All My Children’ faces a 15th chance to win.

Susan Lucci is back among the nominees for Daytime Emmy Awards this year.

After 14 nominations without a victory, the actress who for 24 years has played Erica Kane on ABC’s “All My Children” was not among the finalists last year.

But in nominations announced Wednesday, Lucci was joined as a finalist for best actress in a drama series by Leslie Charleson of ABC’s “General Hospital,” Marj Dusay and Maeve Kinkead of CBS’ “Guiding Light” and Erika Slezak of ABC’s “One Life to Live.”

The Daytime Emmy Awards will be presented during a national telecast to be carried on NBC in prime time May 19 from New York.

CBS collected the most nominations--60--compared to 44 for ABC, 40 for PBS, 19 for NBC, 14 for Fox, nine for HBO, six each for the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. Syndicated programs accounted for 46.

“All My Children,” named best drama series last year, was nominated again, along with NBC’s “Days of Our Lives,” “General Hospital” and CBS’ “The Young and the Restless.” “All My Children,” “General Hospital” and “Guiding Light” each picked up 14 nominations in all, more than any other program.

Nominated for best actor in a drama series were David Canary of “All My Children,” Brad Maule of “General Hospital,” Justin Deas of “Guiding Light,” Peter Bergman of “The Young and the Restless” and last year’s winner, Michael Zaslow of “Guiding Light.”

“The Oprah Winfrey Show,” named best talk show last year, was a finalist again, joined by CNN’s “CNN & Company,” “Donahue,” NBC’s “Leeza” and “Live With Regis and Kathie Lee.”

Nominations for best game/audience participation show went to “American Gladiators,” “MTV’s 4th Annual Rock ‘N’ Roll B-Ball Jam,” CBS’ “The Price Is Right,” and the syndicated “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy!”

PBS’ “Sesame Street,” the most-honored program at last year’s Daytime Emmys with seven awards, was among finalists in a new category, best preschool children’s series. The show, which was honored last year as best children’s show, collected 11 nominations in all.

Nominated for best children’s series: CBS’ “Beakman’s World,” “Bill Nye the Science Guy,” “Nick News,” PBS’ “Reading Rainbow” and PBS’ “Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?”

The Daytime Emmy Awards, for programs between Feb. 6, 1994, and Feb. 5, 1995, are handed out by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
