In Century League baseball:

Canyon 6, Santa Ana Valley 3--Eric Valent and Greg Jacobs each had two hits and two runs batted in for eighth-ranked Canyon (13-4, 5-2).

Villa Park 7, Orange 5--Steve Hendren went the distance with seven strikeouts and was 1 for 3 with a two-run double for Villa Park (9-9, 2-5). David Matranga and Tony Damiano each hit home runs for Orange (8-9, 5-2).

In Century League golf:

El Modena 211, Foothill 214--Sean Brocklebank shot a one-under-par 35 for El Modena (8-5, 2-2) at Tustin Ranch.

Cypress 195, Loara 214--Eric Wang shot a bogey-free, three-under 32 to lead Cypress (13-4-1, 4-0) at Dad Miller.

In the Garden Grove League:

Los Amigos 194, La Quinta 235--Matt Stafford shot a one-under 35 at Mile Square for Los Amigos, which remained undefeated in league at 6-0. Alex Yi shot 36 for La Quinta (3-3 in league).

In Golden West League golf:

Servite 183, Ocean View 186--Mike Lauder (two-over 35) and Adam Ainbinder (36) led Servite (10-1, 3-0) at Fullerton Golf Course.

In the Sunset League:

Huntington Beach 201, Los Alamitos 203--Jeff Farley’s eagle on the par-four No. 7 helped him earn medalist honors with a round of one-under 35 for Huntington Beach (8-1, 5-0) at Cypress.

In Sunset League boys’ swimming:

Edison 109, Huntington Beach 74--Jesse Griffith took first in the 100 freestyle (52.8) and anchored the winning 200- and 400-freestyle relays for Edison (5-3, 3-1).

In Sunset League girls’ swimming:

Edison 96, Huntington Beach 90--Michelle Tucker took first in the 200 freestyle (2:08.6) and 100 backstroke (1:05.3) and Amy Bart won the 200 individual medley (2:18.3) and was on the winning 200 and 400 relays for Huntington Beach (0-4 in league).

In Empire League softball:

El Dorado 3, Katella 1--Samantha Kimura went two for three with one run scored and Kelli Tom pitched a complete-game two-hitter with five strikeouts to lead eighth-ranked El Dorado (12-5, 3-0). Katella is 8-14, 1-2.

Kennedy 7, Loara 0--Kristi Hensel pitched a one-hitter for seventh-ranked Kennedy.
