PREP TENNIS ROUNDUP : Ellis, Miller McCan Sweep for University

Ross Ellis, Doug McCan and Kai Miller swept in singles to lead eighth-ranked University to a 15-3 victory over Laguna Hills in Pacific Coast League boys’ tennis Thursday.
Ellis won 6-0, 6-1, 6-0; McCan won 6-0, 6-2, 6-0, and Miller won 6-4, 7-5, 6-1 for the Trojans (9-3, 6-0).
In other Pacific Coast League matches:
Laguna Beach 13, Aliso Niguel 5--Elliot West swept at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, for Laguna Beach (11-6, 5-2).
In the Century League:
Foothill 15, Villa Park 3--Ryan Thompson swept in singles to improve to 29-1 as Foothill (15-1, 7-0), the county’s fifth-ranked team, beat visiting Villa Park (13-3, 5-2), ranked No. 7. Freshman Joost Hol improved to 38-1 with his singles sweep, and the doubles team of Rob Claus and Lance Stern is 43-2 after sweeping.
In the Golden West League:
Servite 15, Saddleback 3--Ray Gonzales swept No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-1, 6-1, and Joe Ganahl swept No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-2, 6-0, for host Servite (14-4, 9-0), which clinched the league title.
In the South Coast League:
Mission Viejo 13, San Clemente 5--Eric Bachelor and Dan Macy swept at No. 2 doubles, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, for Mission Viejo (11-4, 5-1).
Trabuco Hills 11, Capistrano Valley 7--Peter Mateo and Ken Rubel won, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6, for Trabuco Hills (6-10, 3-3).
In the Sunset League:
Esperanza 9, Edison 9 (Esperanza won on games, 87-82)--Devin Lopez swept in singles for Esperanza (8-6, 6-1). Lopez won 6-3, 6-1, 6-0.
Fountain Valley 13, Huntington Beach 5--Chris Fonseca and Matt Cole swept No. 1 doubles, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2, for host Fountain Valley (7-8, 4-3).
