At the State men’s swimming championships:
Golden West 371, Cuesta 284, Palomar 281--Golden West opened up its lead after two days with top-three finishes in five of eight events Friday. Rafael Guijarro won the 200 freestyle in 1:40.94 for the Rustlers.
At the State women’s swimming championships:
Orange Coast leads--Erin Snow finished second in the 50 backstroke as Orange Coast scored 215 points to take the lead going into the last day of the championships. Snow’s time, 28.73, was one-100th of a second behind the winner, Heidi Turney of Palomar. Palomar is second with 194 points.
Rancho Santiago’s Heather Burton finished third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:56.05.
