Buena Park 14, La Habra 6--Buena Park won its fifth consecutive game and clinched third place and a playoff berth. Danny Baca pitched six innings, giving up three hits, a walk and striking out six for the Coyotes (12-9-1, 8-6-1).
In the Century League:
Orange 6, El Modena 4 (9)--Tony Damiano was three for five, including a two-run double in the ninth, and Art Bell had two stolen bases to give him 31 for second-place Orange (13-12, 10-5).
Villa Park 6, Santa Ana Valley 4--Steve Hendren struck out three in two innings of relief to earn his second save and give Villa Park (14-12, 7-8) third place.
In the Empire League:
Katella 15, Cypress 0--Jason Stockstill had a home run, a double and five RBIs and Cliff Gustafson was five for five for visiting Katella (17-8, 14-1).
El Dorado 13, Loara 4--Chris Beck hit his sixth home run of the season and drove in three runs for El Dorado (20-6, 11-4).
Kennedy 3, Century 1--Garrett Sable went two for four, including his first home run of the season in the seventh inning, for visiting Kennedy (15-11, 7-8).
In the Garden Grove League:
Garden Grove 12, Santiago 5--Adam Bass had three hits and an RBI to lead Garden Grove (13-9, 9-3).
In the Olympic League:
Orange Lutheran 5, Ontario Christian 1--Orange Lutheran (15-9, 11-4) picked up its eighth consecutive victory as Adam Cavaness (10-2) pitched his 10th complete game.
In the Pacific Coast League:
University 11, Laguna Hills 9--University (16-10, 11-4) rallied from an 8-2 deficit in the fourth inning to win the league title. Justin Dunning had a two-run double in the Trojans’ five-run sixth inning and Brett Lockwood had a two-out, three-run double in the four-run seventh.
Tim Blackburn, who threw a no-hitter against the Hawks (14-11, 9-6) Tuesday, pitched the seventh to get the save and was two for four with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Costa Mesa 2, Aliso Niguel 0--Jeremy Starns pitched a three-hit shutout with five strikeouts, lifting Costa Mesa into second place and its first playoff berth since 1981.
In the Sea View League:
Santa Margarita 8, Irvine 1--Jimmy Luster had two hits, including a two-run triple, as visiting Santa Margarita (18-7, 13-2) won its first league title in the six-year history of the program.
Michael Penney had a triple and his eighth home run for Santa Margarita, which beat Irvine, 10-0, Tuesday.
El Toro 7, Newport Harbor 5 (8)--Travis Vessells and Joe Smith had RBI singles in the eighth to give El Toro (13-13, 7-8) the victory and third place.
In the South Coast League:
Capistrano Valley 3, Trabuco Hills 2--Ryan Nassar, in only his second start of the season, hit two home runs for second-place Capistrano Valley (15-10, 9-6).
Mater Dei 4, Dana Hills 3 (8)--Mike Hessman hit a two-run home run, his 11th, in the top of the eighth inning to lead second-ranked Mater Dei (19-5, 12-3).
