Sunny Hills Attempting to Win Consecutive Section Golf Titles

Sunny Hills will attempt to become the third team in six years to win consecutive Southern Section team golf titles when the Lancers tee off this morning at Sandpiper Golf Course in Goleta.

Sunny Hills, led by senior Jenny Lee, junior Terry Noe and sophomore Jin Park, has essentially the same team that won the title last year by beating Palm Desert in a one-hole playoff. Palm Desert, which won the title in 1992 and ‘93, is again among the favorites. Estancia won the title in 1989, ’90 and ’91.

Santa Margarita, Valencia and Servite, which finished first, second and third in the Southern regional last week, Westlake Village Westlake, the only team to beat Sunny Hills this season, and Santa Barbara San Marcos also could challenge for the title.
