Continuing her undefeated streak within her own division, Serena’s Song won the $200,000 Mother Goose Stakes at Belmont Park on Friday by three lengths over Golden Bri.

Ridden by Gary Stevens for trainer Wayne Lukas and owners Robert and Beverly Lewis, Serena’s Song ran 1 1/8 miles in 1:50 1/5. With no show betting on a six-horse field, she went off at 1-20 odds and paid $2.10 to win and $2.10 to place.

Serena’s Song has won six of seven starts this year, her only loss coming when she finished 16th against colts in the Kentucky Derby. She ran against colts one other time this year, winning the Jim Beam at Turfway Park in April. Overall, she has won 10 of 17 races. Friday’s victory, worth $120,000, gives her more than $1.4 million in purses.

“She makes my job very easy,” Stevens said. He won the Kentucky Derby with Thunder Gulch and will be riding the colt for Lukas in today’s Belmont Stakes.

This was Lukas’ fifth victory in the Mother Goose. The trainer said Serena’s Song’s next start probably will be another Belmont Park race, the $250,000 Coaching Club American Oaks on July 8.
