FOUNTAIN VALLEY : Burned Classrooms to Be Replaced

Share

Kazuo Masuda Middle School will receive two modular buildings by next school year to replace classrooms destroyed in March by arson.

Fountain Valley School District trustees last week approved an agreement to buy the classrooms from Banc One Leasing Corp. of Columbus, Ohio, for $18,147 a year over the next five years.

The two classrooms burned in the March 3 fire will be rebuilt and ready for students sometime in the 1995-96 school year, said Marc Ecker, assistant superintendent. The fire caused an estimated $300,000 to $400,000 in damage, officials said. No arrests have been made.

Ecker said the modular classrooms will be installed in July and completed in August, in time for the start of school in September.

The classrooms will remain permanently to help the school ease overcrowding problems, he said.
