Fire at Sycamore School Put Out
A fire in an air duct at Sycamore School in Simi Valley on Sunday sent smoke into the air above the school but was quickly extinguished.
Investigators had not determined the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage Sunday evening.
Around 6 p.m., Ventura County firefighters received a report of a fire at the elementary school on Ravenna Street. One firetruck and three engines responded.
Firefighters forced entry through a door and located the fire in a duct near the building’s air-conditioning equipment, according to the Fire Department. The blaze was extinguished in about 20 minutes. No injuries were reported.
