Fishing Phenomenal in Late-Thawing Mammoth Lakes Region

Share

Spring has finally sprung in the Mammoth Lakes region.

Well, actually it’s summer, but it feels more like spring to residents who have been digging their way out of the snow while those in the Southland basked in the sun.

Lakes Mamie, Mary, George and Twin have only recently thawed. And to bring them up to speed with other lakes, state and private hatcheries are loading them with so many fish, they are providing what city officials call “some of the best summer fishing in years.”
