Fullerton’s Noe Wins Golf Title in Playoff at Aviara

Terry Noe of Fullerton beat Ben Curtis of Ostrander, Ohio, on the fourth hole of a sudden-death playoff to win the American Junior Golf Assn.’s Ashworth-Golfweek Aviara tournament Thursday in Carlsbad.
Noe, who was one stroke behind Curtis before the final round, shot a 72 for a total of 212 on the 6,886-yard Aviara Golf course. Curtis finished with a 73.
Jeffrey McGraw, also of Fullerton, finished third with a one-under-par 71 (215).
In the girls’ division, Julia Allison of Santa Ana finished fourth after a final-round score of 78 (233). Yon Yim of Irvine took fifth (233) on the 5,887-yard course.
