Yorba Linda officials and residents will welcome home the Yorba Hills Little League team in style Sept. 8 with a celebration starting at the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace.
The team fell one game short of reaching the World Series final, losing in the U.S. title game to Spring, Tex., 3-1, on Thursday. The Yorba Hills players are expected to return home Sunday, arriving at Los Angeles International Airport at 5:09 p.m.
The celebration Sept. 8 will start at 6 p.m. with a parade moving from the library west along Yorba Linda Boulevard to Casa Loma Avenue, then north to the Community Center. Once there, city officials will hold an awards ceremony for the team.
