CSUN’s Firing of Hiegert Gets No Community Support
I was deeply saddened at the news of the unjustified firing of Athletic Director Bob Hiegert by the current California State University at Northridge administration.
Mr. Hiegert has not only been a top-notch representative of our California athletic system but a dedicated and involved citizen in our Chatsworth community.
This heavy-handed action by the CSUN administration is only another example of ineptitude, a veritable disgrace to our community. No wonder the morale at this university is at a new low and registration numbers continue to fall.
This is a very good example of what happens to the best interest of a community when the career ambitions of a few top administrators take precedence.
