Quarterback Steve Beuerlein of the Jacksonville Jaguars is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets after an MRI revealed a sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee. He suffered the injury in the second quarter of Jacksonville’s 24-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals when he was sacked by linebacker Ricardo McDonald.

Michael Dean Perry, a key member of the Denver Broncos’ defense, might be ready to play Sunday against Washington, but more likely it will be against San Diego on Sept. 24, Coach Mike Shanahan said. The tackle has been rehabilitating his right knee, which he injured during the Broncos’ 22-7 victory over Buffalo in the season opener.

The Houston Oilers are considering an agreement that would keep the team in Houston through the 1997 season. The agreement would end the team’s federal lawsuit against the city, Harris County and Astrodome USA.
