Sam Stremick
Villa Park, Senior
Football/Quarterback
Stremick’s performance in the Spartans’ 20-14 victory over Brea Olinda was remarkable. In the final minute, he blocked a field goal attempt, scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 19-yard run and intercepted a pass. Earlier, he recovered a fumble. When it was over, he had passed for 141 yards and one touchdown. Because he is now a quarterback, Stremick, who had eight interceptions last season, spends less time playing defense, but you can be sure he’ll be playing on both sides of the ball during crunch time. “He’s been in the right place and he’s got the speed and the wherewithal to come up and make the play,” Villa Park Coach Pat Mahoney said.
