In Arrowhead League football:
Southern California Christian 47, La Verne Lutheran 6--Steve Shinhoven passed for 223 yards and three touchdowns to lead Southern California Christian (4-2, 1-0) in the league opener at La Verne Lutheran High.
Mark Cabellero caught two of those touchdown passes, one for 70 yards and one for 45 yards.
