Pasadena 13, Hoover 10--Pasadena’s Chidi Iwuoma scored on a seven-yard touchdown run with six minutes, 28 seconds remaining to lift the Bulldogs (3-4, 1-1) at Pasadena City College.

Iwuoma had earlier returned a kick 93 yards for a touchdown on the final play of the first half.

Hoover (3-3-1, 0-2) took a 10-0 lead on a 49-yard field goal by Marco Mesrobian in the first quarter, and a 48-yard touchdown pass from Welsev Maltez to Mark Riggio with six seconds left in the second quarter. Maletz’s pass was tipped by a Pasadena defender at the 15 and snared by Riggio at the 10 as he went full stride into the end zone.

Pasadena came right back with Iwuoma’s ensuing touchdown return. Iwuoma rushed for a game-high 92 yards on 17 carries.

Any chance of a Hoover comeback was thwarted when Maltez fumbled after receiving a hit from Pasadena lineman Anthony Thomas at the Hoover 29 with 4:46 left to play.
