Rio Mesa 22, Oxnard 7--Bruce Samuel rushed for 161 yards in 30 carries and scored on runs of one and 15 yards for the Spartans (2-5, 1-3) at Rio Mesa.

David Chooljian booted a 25-yard field goal midway through the second quarter to give the Spartans a 9-7 lead they never relinquished. Samuel added a one-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter to push the Rio Mesa advantage to 15-7.
