SANTA ANA — A 59-year-old Santa Ana man was killed early Saturday when the car he was riding in collided with another automobile at an intersection, police said.
Lui M. Ioane was a passenger in a car traveling south on Greenville Street about 6:50 a.m. when the car struck another vehicle traveling east on Segerstrom Avenue, Santa Ana Police Sgt. Jim McDaniel said.
Ioane was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead about 7:30 a.m., police said. Two unidentified people in the other car were injured and taken to UC Irvine Medical Center.
The cause of the collision is under investigation, but McDaniel said it appeared one of the cars ran a red light.
