RIVERSIDE — St. Margaret’s recorded its second consecutive shutout with a 26-0 Freedom League victory over Riverside Sherman Indian Friday night.
St. Margaret’s (3-6, 3-1) clinched a playoff spot last week with its 54-0 victory over California School for the Deaf Riverside.
The Tartans went up 6-0 in the first quarter on a one-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Mike Heydenrych to Kevin Roberts.
Heydenrych finished the game completing 17 of 25 for 197 yards and a touchdown. Heydenrych also intercepted a Sherman Indian pass and converted two point-after attempts.
St. Margaret’s took a 12-0 halftime lead when Justin Jameson ran it in from 50 yards out in the second quarter.
After a scoreless third quarter, Tom Sire put the Tartans on the scoreboard again with a six-yard run. Jon Masters completed St. Margaret’s scoring with a five-yard touchdown run.
