Easterbrook Not Interested in Fresno Job

FULLERTON — Cal State Fullerton Athletic Director John Easterbrook said Wednesday he will not be a candidate for Fresno State’s vacant athletic director’s position.

Easterbrook said he was notified by the search committee seeking a replacement for Gary Cunningham that he was among those nominated for consideration.

Easterbrook was associate athletic director under Cunningham at Fresno State for nine years before moving to Fullerton last year. Cunningham is now athletic director at UC Santa Barbara.

“I’m very happy here, and I have a number of uncompleted projects that I want to finish,” Easterbrook said. “I’m honored to be nominated, but it’s not something I wanted to consider at this time.”
