Breakfast Benefit for Fire Safety House
The Oxnard Firefighters Assn. and the Oxnard Kiwanis Club, which claims it makes the finest hotcakes in the city, will host a special pancake breakfast on Saturday to raise money for the Fire Department’s Kids Fire Safety House.
Organizers are requesting $3 donations to pay for the safety house, which cost the department $35,000. The structure teaches children ways to prevent and respond to fires.
Fire officials will showcase the safety house during the breakfast, which will take place from 7 to 11 a.m. at Fire Station No. 1, at the corner of 5th and South K streets.
For information on the breakfast, call the Oxnard Firefighters Assn. at 523-3773.
