ANAHEIM : Firefighters to Discuss Stricter Building Codes
Tougher fire protection standards now in effect for east Anaheim will be the topic of a public presentation by city firefighters today.
Displays of fire-resistant plants and roofing materials will be featured, as well as information on how to construct spark arresters.
Under the new law, homeowners must install spark arresters on their chimneys and stove pipes and remove dead vegetation on and around structures. Fire-resistant roofs are required for new structures and for existing buildings that undergo major re-roofings.
