Mater Dei Defeats Ocean View, 67-48

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Mater Dei advanced to the Tournament of Champions final by defeating Ocean View, 67-48, in boys’ basketball Friday night at Ocean View.
The Monarchs, No. 1 in Division I, will face No. 3 Long Beach Jordan at 8 tonight at 8.
Mater Dei’s Tom Lippold led all scorers with 16 points.
Kevin Hanson led Ocean View (4-5) with 11 points. The Seahawks will face Nogales at 6:30 tonight in the third-place game.
