BOYS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Esperanza Rolls, Beats Servite, 64-44

Josh Greer scored 24 points and Andy Gaulden added 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead No. 2 Esperanza (10-1) over Servite, 64-44, in a nonleague boys’ basketball game Thursday at Esperanza.

Lance Day scored 15 points and had seven rebounds for Servite (7-3). Teammate Sean Rawson added four three-pointers for 12 points.

In other nonleague boys’ basketball:

Estancia 74, Capistrano Valley 70--Dane Plock scored 26 points and Chris Candlish scored 23 to lead Estancia (10-1) past host Capistrano Valley.

Austin Moherman scored 27 points for the Cougars.

Newport Harbor 57, Saddleback 44--Leading, 37-34, at the end of the third quarter, Newport Harbor (4-8) outscored Saddleback, 20-10, in the final quarter for the victory.

Chad Coluccio led all scorers with 15 points and Pete Cunningham added 14 for the Sailors.

Savanna 49, Kennedy 34--Kennedy came out strong in the first quarter to take a four-point lead, but Savanna settled down in the second quarter to take the lead the rest of the way.

Sam Balos scored 19 points and Brandon Warden added 17 and nine rebounds for Savanna (2-7).

David Hinojos led Kennedy (3-7) with 10 points.

Villa Park 57, Huntington Beach 35--Villa Park took command early in the game, leading, 28-9, in the first half to dominate Huntington Beach.

Junior Eric Henowith, the 7-foot Villa Park center, scored 19 points and had 10 rebounds and eight blocked shots. Isaiah Cavaco also contributed with 10 points and six assist for Villa Park (5-3).

In the San Dieguito tournament:

Del Mar Torrey Pines 68, Santa Margarita 52--Allen Krist had 20 points for Santa Margarita (8-2).
