HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER ROUNDUP : Ventura Wins Final on Boug’s Goal, 1-0

Toni Boug scored in the 38th minute as the Ventura boys’ team defeated Agoura, 1-0, Friday to win the Buena tournament.

Earlier in the day, the Cougars (6-2-2) defeated Moorpark, 3-0. Agoura (6-5-1) defeated St. Bonaventure, 3-0 in an earlier match.

Thousand Oaks 2, Oxnard 1--Jack Wilson scored on a penalty kick with one minute to play as the Lancers (1-6-5) won a pool play match at the Buena tournament.

Saugus 7, Alemany 1--Nate Wright scored four goals, Jordan Albertson scored two and Jeff Hammond added another as the Centurions (13-1-1) routed the Indians (7-6-1) in the third-place match at the Hart tournament.

John Macdonald scored his 21st goal in 12 matches for Alemany.

Jason Berriz made five saves for Saugus and Chris Dinse stopped five shots for Alemany.

Grant 4, Chatsworth 3--Miro Bilaver had two goals as the Lancers (8-2-2) won the Hart tournament consolation championship.

Birmingham 1, Belmont 1--Jose Rivas scored for Birmingham (6-0-1) and Jose Juarez scored for Belmont in the championship match of the Birmingham tournament.

Peter Mastrocinque made four saves for Birmingham.

Alta Loma 4, Royal 2--Brandon Kay scored twice but the Highlanders (11-3-1) dropped a Don Lugo tournament semifinal match to the Braves (15-0-2).

Royal 2, Chino 1--Kendall Simmonds scored both goals for the Highlanders (10-3-1) in a quarterfinal victory at the Don Lugo tournament.

Amador Valley 2, Burroughs 0--Brian Jones scored two goals in the second half as Amador Valley defeated the Indians (6-2-3) in pool play of the Bishop O’Dowd tournament.

Jose Munoz made seven saves for Burroughs.

GIRLS

Grant 2, Lompoc 0--Sarah Rothman scored twice as the Lancers captured the San Marcos tournament consolation title.

Cindy Del Nostro made eight saves for Grant.

Dos Pueblos 2, Alemany 1--Michelle Pentreach scored for the Indians (7-10) in a consolation semifinal of the San Marcos tournament.

Thousand Oaks 3, Mira Costa 2--Megan Cordes headed in the winning goal from a corner kick by Desiree Waters during the second overtime for the Lancers (8-1-1) in the San Marcos tournament fifth-place match.

Nicole Straky made 16 saves and Susan Shivokevich, an all-tournament selection, scored twice on penalty kicks in the first half for Thousand Oaks.

Thousand Oaks defeated Righetti, 3-0, in an earlier match on goals by Lauren Mercaldo, Kristie Nakamura and Desiree Waters.
