No. 3 Fountain Valley Rolls Past No. 7 Marina

Third-ranked Fountain Valley opened a 17-point halftime lead against No. 7 Marina and went on to a 71-52 victory in the Sunset League opener for both teams Thursday at Fountain Valley High.
The Barons led by seven after first quarter, then took a 34-17 lead into the half after limiting the Vikings (12-3, 0-1) to two points in the second quarter.
Jennifer Ludwicki scored 21 points, Jennifer Rizzo added 18 and Nicole Strange had 17 for Fountain Valley (16-2, 1-0).
