The game will go on, despite snow and freezing temperature in Kansas City, Mo.

About five inches covered Arrowhead Stadium after Friday’s snowfall, but stadium officials said the field will be ready for today’s playoff game (1 p.m., Channel 4) between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Indianapolis Colts. Heaters blowing warm air at speeds of up to 150 mph are keeping the Bermuda grass warm.

But fans won’t have that luxury.

Chiefs officials said it was impossible to remove all the snow from the seats, but they weren’t concerned about a repeat of the snowball barrage at Giants Stadium Dec. 23, when the New York Giants played the San Diego Chargers.

“Our fans are interested in watching the game and not acting like a bunch of hooligans,” said Bob Moore, the Chiefs’ public relations director.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs, who had the NFL’s best record (13-3) and were a perfect 8-0 at home, were feeling loose after their final workout.

“We’ve felt no pressure,” linebacker Tracy Simien said. “I felt last year there was a lot of pressure because Joe [Montana] was here. This year, nobody expected us to do anything--we got picked for next-to-last in our division.

The Colts are relaxed too. And why not? Expectations were minuscule for them.

“This is great,” Colt quarterback Jim Harbaugh said. “This is the kind of situation you want to be in, playing in playoff games with a chance to win a championship. This is the fun time.”
