La Canada boys’ soccer Coach Louis Bilowitz has been selected as the Small School Region VIII Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Assn. of America and Umbro. La Canada, the defending Southern Section Division IV champion with a 25-0 record, is 11-0 this season. . . . The Pasadena Muir boys’ basketball team may be 11-8 overall, but the Mustangs have two of the top scorers in the area in Quincy Stinson and Ricky Maiden. Stinson, a 5-11 senior, averaged 26.5 points in five games in the San Diego Nike Prep tournament. Maiden, a 6-7 senior, is averaging 17 points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots. After splitting their first two Pacific League games, the Mustangs will play Arcadia (2-0 in league play) Friday. . . . Senior guard Jana Dorn scored a career-high 36 points and had a school-record nine three-point shots to lead Glendora to a 48-35 victory over Claremont in a girls’ basketball game Tuesday. . . . Krista Sandoval scored four goals and Dana Fuqua had three to lead Bonita to a 12-0 victory over Ganesha in girls’ soccer Tuesday.
