Allard Leads La Habra Past Troy, 51-47

Erin Allard scored 12 of her 20 points in the second quarter to help host La Habra to a 51-47 victory over Troy in a Freeway League girls’ basketball game Thursday.

La Habra (7-9, 4-1 in league) led, 29-18, at the half. Heidi Hardeman scored 24 points for Troy (15-5, 4-1), which fell into a three-way tie for first with La Habra and Sonora.

In another Freeway League game:

Sonora 51, Buena Park 25--Aiyana Nash scored 29 points, hitting five of six from the free-throw line, for Sonora (14-5, 4-1).

In the Century League:

Canyon 50, Foothill 40--Canyon handed Foothill its first league loss as Megan O’Neill scored 13 points and Jenny Fulbright had 12 for the Comanches (11-10, 3-2). Robin Templeton scored 12 for the Knights (13-6, 4-1).

Villa Park 61, Santa Ana Valley 35--Missy Bynon had 16 points for host Villa Park (10-9, 4-1).

In the Empire League:

Century 47, Cypress 40--Freshman Aprile Powell scored 23 points for Century. Freshman Lyndsay Weaver scored 15 for the Centurions.

Kennedy 40, Katella 36--Noelani Westall had 16 points and 11 rebounds for host Kennedy (7-11, 1-3). Marcia Eguchi added 12 points for Kennedy.

In the Golden West League:

Ocean View 57, Rosary 48--Becky Fraser had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Anna Lembke added 11 points for 10th-ranked Ocean View (14-6, 4-1).

Westminster 88, Santa Ana 23--Jennifer Gray scored 18 points and Tanzenika Holmes added 17 for No. 7 Westminster (17-3, 5-0).

Tustin 63, Saddleback 48--Shamekia Perkins scored 21 points and Janna Needham had 11 points and 12 rebounds for Tustin (9-11, 2-3).

In the Olympic League:

Brethren Christian 62, Whittier Christian 33--April Harrim scored 14 points for host Brethren Christian (12-7, 4-1).

In the Orange League:

Brea Olinda 106, Anaheim 17--Marissa Bradley had 23 points and Erin Kelly added 20 for fourth-ranked Brea Olinda (15-2, 4-0).

Magnolia 34, Valencia 33--Andrea Picci made a 14-footer with 10 seconds left for Magnolia (12-6, 4-0). Roxanna Stumps’ shot underneath the basket missed at the buzzer for Valencia. Picci and Stacy Tewell each scored 16 points for the Sentinels.

Western 80, Savanna 28--Nancy Herrera scored 20 points and Celeste Maniliguis had 17 for Western (11-9, 2-2). Adrienne Ratajczak grabbed 18 rebounds and scored 10 points for Western.

In the Pacific Coast League:

University 59, Aliso Niguel 34--Monique Mathews, averaging 16 points, led University (12-7, 3-2) with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Brooke Hyman scored 16 points, had 10 rebounds and four blocks for Aliso Niguel (7-11, 1-4).

Estancia 61, Laguna Beach 21--Jessica Waltz had 15 points, 14 steals and nine assists for host Estancia (18-2, 4-1).

Laguna Hills 41, Costa Mesa 25--Marissa Trienen scored 14 points and Tayyiba Haneef scored eight points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks for No. 5 Laguna Hills (16-2, 5-0). Tamara Inoue had nine points and 10 steals for the league-leading Laguna Hills.

In the Sea View League:

Woodbridge 92, El Toro 22--Erin Stovall had 21 points and Melanie Pearson had 16 points and 11 rebounds for second-ranked Woodbridge (16-2, 5-0).

Corona del Mar 53, Irvine 48--The Sea Kings overcame an 18-4 deficit after the first quarter. Lindsay Warmington scored 19 points for Corona del Mar (15-6, 2-3).

Newport Harbor 50, Santa Margarita 34--M.E. Clayton scored 16 points for host Newport Harbor (10-8, 3-2).

In the South Coast League:

Mater Dei 55, Mission Viejo 34--Melody Peterson had 13 points, six assists and five rebounds for top-ranked Mater Dei (15-2, 5-0).

San Clemente 64, Trabuco Hills 48--Kirsten Quade’s 14 points and 14 rebounds led second-place San Clemente (12-9, 4-1). Sarah Warnick scored 18 for Trabuco Hills (9-9, 1-4).
