SCC Spreads Scoring Around in 93-89 Victory

Five players scored in double figures and two more had nine points each for host Southern California College, which beat Fresno Pacific, 93-89, in a Golden State Athletic Conference men’s basketball game Tuesday.

Robert Darville had 16, Eric Walker and Jason Janeski added 14 each, Mike Guevara had 12 and Mike Ruble had 10 for Southern California College (11-8, 3-2).

In a nonconference men’s game:

Chapman 100, Life Bible 60--Toby Curto and Jim Falletta each scored 15 points for Chapman. Pete Sverkos and Umahl Anderson each added 14 points.

In Golden State Athletic Conference women’s basketball:

Concordia 76, Point Loma Nazarene 62--Melissa Ridge and Jaime Gast each scored 17 points for Concordia (14-6, 3-2). Ridge also took seven steals from Point Loma (7-14, 3-2).

Fresno Pacific 69, Southern California College 60--Tamika Harold, formerly of Cypress College, had 16 points and 15 rebounds for visiting Fresno Pacific (12-8, 3-1), which made 27 of 38 free throws. Heather Woodruff had 13 points and 10 rebounds for SCC.

In a nonconference women’s game:

Long Beach State 75, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 64--The 49ers rallied from a five-point halftime deficit, as San Luis Obispo (2-16) shot only 26% from the field in the second half. Kim Barfield, Adara Newidouski and Akia Hardy each scored 15 points for Long Beach State (8-8).
