Early in his career, NBC’s Bob Costas was a radio announcer for the Spirits of St. Louis of the old American Basketball Assn., a team that featured unpredictable Marvin (Bad News) Barnes.

Costas listed some of Barnes’ career highlights to Rick Morrissey of the the Rocky Mountain News. A sampling:
