Freshman Sparks the Titans

Freshman Bevan Trueblood’s two-run homer in the second inning proved to be the winning hit as Cal State Fullerton beat New Mexico, 3-1, in nonconference softball Wednesday at Cal State Fullerton.

Brandi Isgar (9-4) pitched a five-hitter for Cal State Fullerton and improved her record to 9-4.

The second game was canceled because of rain.

In nonconference women’s tennis:

Fairfield (Conn.) 7, Southern California College 2--Quynh Le won her singles match, 6-1, 6-1, and teamed with Wendy Andel to win in doubles, 6-2, 6-2, for the Vanguards (6-5).
