Dennis Rodman apologized Tuesday for the antics that cost him a six-game suspension without pay plus a $20,000 fine.

“To Chicago Bulls fans and my teammates, I want to publicly apologize for my actions on Saturday,” Rodman said in a statement.

“I was wrong in making contact with any NBA official and I deserve to be punished for my actions, although I do believe [the sanctions] were severe. I realize NBA referees are doing their job and it’s my job to respect them and the rules of the game and not put my teammates in jeopardy.
