Fight Card to Feature Lewis, Morales
Promising junior welterweight Mark Lewis of Mira Loma makes his 10-round debut tonight in the Irvine Marriott’s main event. Lewis (11-9 with nine knockouts) will fight Mario “Yuca” Morales (16-12-2 with nine knockouts) of Mexicali, Mexico.
Huntington Beach bantamweight Johnny Vasquez was originally supposed to headline the show, but he pulled out because he was suffering from bronchitis. Lewis is coming off a knockout victory last month at the Pond.
In the semi-main event, Azusa light heavyweight Jerry Moran (5-1 with four knockouts) takes on Lancaster’s Calvin Coombs (3-5 with one knockout) in a six-round bout. Moran is coming off a loss to Mike Doran two months ago at the Marriott. The featured undercard fight is a five-round lightweight contest between Pacoima’s Sergio Macias (7-3 with two knockouts) and Bell’s Frankie Colon (4-1 with one knockout).
Tickets for the 7:30 show, priced at $25, $30 and $35, are on sale today at the Marriott.
