Glendale’s Lee Pitches No-Hitter

Garret Lee pitched a no-hitter and struck out 10 to lead Glendale College past Hancock, 6-0, in a Western State Conference interdivisional baseball game Thursday at Glendale.

Bret Niles had two hits and drove in two runs for Glendale (10-14, 5-8 in conference play). Aryn Hart had three hits and drove in a run, and Jamie Isenhart drove in two runs for Glendale.

Lee evened his record at 2-2.

Bakersfield 6, Ventura 5--The Renegades scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth in a WSC interdivisional game at Bakersfield. The loss was charged to reliever Aaron Hanel (2-5), although Pete Alamillo surrendered the last of three consecutive singles to end the game.

Jason Kimble, Jeremy Pierce, Chris Carr, Monty Moritz and Dan Comando each drove in runs for Ventura (13-11, 6-7). Comando’s single gave the Pirates a 5-4 lead in the ninth.

Valley 4, Moorpark 3--Mike Wertz, Marco Lopez and Javier Dorado each had run-scoring singles in the sixth to help Valley (8-16, 5-8) overcome a 3-1 deficit in a WSC interdivisional game at Valley. Steve Zorn led off the inning with a triple.

Joel Mellinger had two hits for Moorpark (4-9 in conference).

Victor Valley 10, Antelope Valley 4--Doug Kirby of Victor Valley hit two home runs, raising his season total to 10, in a Foothill Conference game at Victor Valley.

Rob Wood, John Keltner and David Nichols each had run-scoring singles for Antelope Valley (2-17, 2-8).
