There are still problems, but one of them is not attendance at Foxboro, Mass., where 32,864 saw Darren Sawatzky score the game-winning shootout goal Saturday night in the New England Revolution’s 3-2 victory over the Washington D.C. United.

Geoff Aunger converted a game-tying penalty kick in the 78th minute for New England, sending things into the shootout period, 1-1.

“We still have to work things out,” Aunger said. “There’s language problems, and that accounts for some miscommunication.”

Columbus 2, New York-New Jersey 0--Brian Bliss and Billy Thompson scored for the Crew and goalkeeper Bo Oshoniyi saved a second-half penalty kick at East Rutherford, N.J., where the crowd of 26,416 was 20,000 less than the MetroStars drew for their home opener but still above the listed soccer capacity at Giants Stadium.
