SEASON AT A GLANCE: Giordano was converted from left field to shortstop at the start of the season but she didn’t miss a beat. The area’s premier leadoff hitter, Giordano batted .490, scored 30 runs and stole 51 bases in 52 attempts. She was named Foothill League player of the year.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: In leading the Centurions to a 1-0 victory over Irvine Woodbridge last week for their first Southern Section championship, Giordano scored from second base on a groundout to the shortstop in the fifth inning, beating the relay home by the first baseman.
