100, 200, 400 meters

Garden Grove, Sr.

Won all three events at the Orange County Championships and the Garden Grove League finals. Dominated events he concentrated on, the 100 and 200. Ran 10.63 wind-aided 100 and 21.21 in the 200, finishing third at the state meet in the 200. Personal-best 48.09 won him the county title in the 400 meters.

Long jump, triple jump, high jump

El Toro, Jr.

One of the elite all-around jumpers in the Southern Section, Parks’ season highlight was a state title in the high jump. Jumped 6-10 to win the Sea View League, the section Division II, Masters and state titles. Won the county and Sea View titles in the long jump. County’s most consistent triple jumper.

Tustin, Jr.

The Southern Section Division II and Masters meet winner ran a wind-aided 13.76 this spring. Fourth at the state final.

Santa Margarita, Sr.

Led the Eagles to the Southern Section Division II team title with a victory in the intermediates. Ran 37.13 in the section and finished sixth at the state finals.

The county’s most consistent shot putter, Noll won the Southern Section Division II title, then was second in the Masters meet. Sea View League winner threw 56-9.

State champion with a throw of 185-7. The county and Sunset League champion was second a the Masters meet after winning the Southern Section Division I title.

Brethren Christian, Sr.

Michels won the state meet title, clearing 16-2 after finishing second in the Masters meet. Also won Mt. SAC, Arcadia and Los Angeles indoor meets.
