‘War Crimes,’ Boxing and Olympic Trials on the Agenda

Bill Kurtis is the host of “War Crimes: Five Days in Hell,” a new A&E; “Investigative Reports,” airing tonight at 6 and 10, exploring what really happened in the genocide of more than 7,000 Muslims in July 1995.

Though two Bosnian Serb leaders, Radovan Karadzic and Gen. Ratko Mladic, stand accused of the crimes that took place during and after the capture of the safe haven of Srebenica, the men continue to have enormous influence in Serb-held Bosnia.

KCET-TV Channel 28 repeats “Triumph of the Nerds: The Rise of Accidental Empires in the Silicon Valley,” today at 7 p.m., a three-hour PBS documentary that looks at how self-professed “nerds” changed the world. Microsoft’s Bill Gates and Paul Allen and Apple founder Steve Jobs are interviewed.

On the sports front, HBO presents undefeated Ray Jones Jr. (31-0) defending his super-middleweight title against Eric Lucas (18-2-2), the Canadian light-heavyweight champion who has moved down in weight class for the 12-round bout, tonight at 6:30. Following at 7:45 is a tape of the Julio Cesar Chavez-Oscar De La Hoya fight.

NBC offers U.S. Olympic trials in track and field from Atlanta, tonight at 8 on Channels 4 and 36. Tom Hammond hosts and Craig Masback, Dwight Stones and Carol Lewis provide analysis.
