Donadoni Returns to Lead MetroStars

Giovanni Savarese and Tab Ramos scored goals two minutes apart in the second half, and the New York-New Jersey MetroStars welcomed back Roberto Donadoni with a 2-0 victory over the Kansas City Wiz on Tuesday night at East Rutherford, N.J.
In front of 16,103 at Giants Stadium, Tony Meola had five saves in recording his second consecutive and league-high fourth shutout. He made two stops on Mo Johnston in the penalty area in the final 10 minutes.
Donadoni returned after playing for Italy in the European Championships and assisted on Savarese’s goal in the 50th minute.
