SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

There’s nothing like getting a big group together for some summer traveling.

And for Antelope Valley High’s boys’ basketball team, it will be even more enjoyable down the road if the Antelopes’ summer vacation pays off with success in the playoffs eight months from now.

Antelope Valley defeated Alemany, 72-48, on Thursday in the second day of pool play in the “War on the Floor” tournament. It was the Antelopes’ fifth win in as many games in the past three days.

Afterward, nine of the 11 Antelope Valley players suited up for their traveling squad, which played later at Valencia High.
