MacKenzie Resigns as Bell-Jeff Baseball Coach

Share

Doug MacKenzie resigned Tuesday after one season as baseball coach at Bell-Jeff High. MacKenzie has coached in the area for 41 years, most of them at Canoga Park High. He left Canoga Park in 1987 after winning the City Section 4-A Division championship.

At Bell-Jeff, MacKenzie was frustrated by a lack of commitment on the part of many players. The Guards forfeited three games for not having enough players.

MacKenzie, 70, would like to continue coaching.

“I have the energy and enthusiasm,” he said.
