Eight More Than Enough for East

Brian Fatur’s two-run home run highlighted an eight-run fifth inning Thursday as Las Virgenes East defeated Van Nuys South, 14-8, in a District 20 game at Calabasas High.

Fatur added two doubles and finished with four runs batted in.

Manny Mosqueda had two hits and drove in three runs for Las Virgenes East (20-5), which leads the East Valley Division.

In other District 20 games:

Verdugo Hills 15, Granada Hills East 5--Jesus Osuna had a three-run triple as Verdugo Hills (16-8) scored six runs in the first inning of a game called after six innings due to the 10-run rule.

Jon Garland had a home run for Granada Hills East (9-14).

Woodland Hills East 7, Las Virgenes West 5--Yaron Peters had three hits and drove in two runs for Woodland Hills East (13-9) in a game at Taft High.

Studio City 4, Sunland-Tujunga 3--Jessie Cortez had two hits and drove in a run for Studio City (10-14) in a game at Sylmar High.
