Youth Activities Given Priority on City Fields

Sports groups and activities involving young people have top priority for use of the city’s athletic fields under a new policy adopted by the City Council.
“A need was determined by the parks and recreation staff to develop a policy and a process for allocating the fields in a fair and equitable way,” recreation supervisor Darin Loughrey said.
Loughrey said the policy “will allow groups to secure the use of fields for special events [and] will allocate the fields first for youth and sports groups,” then for other Tustin residents.
The council also approved a fee increase for adult softball team registration, from $400 to $430
