Costa Mesa’s Schwartz Claims Scratch Main

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event of the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program in front of 5,023 Friday night at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano was second, Gary Hicks of Riverside third, Jesse Finch of Orange fourth and Shawn McConnell of Brea fifth.

McConnell had won the eight-lap handicap main event earlier with Hicks second.
