Chandler, Smith Lead SCC Rout of Canadian Team

Running back Tony Chandler scored three touchdowns and quarterback Jeremy Smith had a hand in four other scores as Southern California Christian routed Coaldale (Canada) Kate Andrews High, 53-0.

Kate Andrews, with an enrollment of 300 students, is located two hours south of Calgary, Alberta.

Chandler scored his first touchdown 2 1/2 minutes into the game on a six-yard run. Six minutes later, scored on a seven-yard run for a 14-0 lead.

After Chandler’s five-yard score with 8 minutes 28 seconds left in the second quarter and a missed extra point, the Flames had a 20-0 lead. Chandler had 113 yards in 13 carries.

With 7:03 left in the first half, David Mack caught a 25-yard pass from Smith and SCC had a 27-0 halftime lead.

Four minutes into the third quarter, Smith hooked up with Mack again, this time for a 31-yard touchdown yards and after a two-point pass attempt failed, the Flames led 33-0.

On Kate Andrews’ second play of the next drive, Smith recovered a loose ball and ran 48 yards for a touchdown. Three and a half minutes later, he intercepted a Beau Mirau pass and ran it back 38 yards for a 47-0 lead.

With 9:22 left in the game, Isaac Scott scored on a three-yard run.
