Undefeated junior-lightweight contender Robert Garcia of Oxnard and former U.S. amateur champion Carlos Navarro of Los Angeles will headline a professional boxing card at the U.S. Naval Construction Battalion Center on Oct. 13.

Garcia (25-0), 21, ranked second in the world by the International Boxing Federation and third by the World Boxing Council, will probably face be veteran Jose Luis Madrid of Tijuana (21-11; 18 knockouts).

Promoter Peter Broudy of Celebrity Boxing said the match-up will be finalized this week.

Navarro, who knocked out Luis Martinez of Mexico in his pro debut in July, also will fight an opponent yet to be determined.

The six-fight card, originally scheduled for Saturday at the Radisson Suite Hotel in Oxnard but rescheduled because of parking problems, will take place in a parking lot in a temporary stadium with a capacity of about 5,000. The first bout is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Also on the card will be Oxnard heavyweight Adam Flores, who will make his professional debut in a four-round bout against Ricardo Phillips, and Oxnard’s Eddie Contreras, who will face Marco Antonio Ramos in an eight-round junior-lightweight bout.
